At the beginning of the video, everything seems normal: the car is filming itself driving down the road with a van in front of it traveling in the same direction. However, the van's driver decides to suddenly stop in the middle of the road, forcing the car behind to brake suddenly to avoid a rear-end collision.

Because he wanted to turn left at a point on the road where it's prohibited and where access is only permitted from the oncoming lane. While it's true that he signaled his intentions early and that there was a broken line on the road, many have pointed out that using his turn signal wasn't enough to surprise him with this reckless maneuver and that the driver behind him most likely thought he was using his turn signal to overtake a vehicle.
